My toddler refuses to follow directions. Will they still enjoy drama class?Absolutely! Drama is all about creative freedom, and we welcome every unique personality (even the rebellious ones) and celebrate independence and curiosity. Our classes are designed to let toddlers explore their big emotions in a safe, fun way!
-
Do you have drama classes for pre-teens too?You bet! Our pre-teen classes dive deeper into storytelling, improvisation, and character development. They’ll learn all the cool skills while having a blast—and who knows, they might just write their own play by the end of the term
-
Do they need to memorize lines? They still call spaghetti 'psghetti.' Nope! Drama class for young kids is more about play, movement, and exploring emotions. There’s no need for scripts—just a lot of pretending, storytelling, and creativity. Plus, 'psghetti' could be their first line in a future improv show!
-
Do I have to book a full course? It is advised you book the full term in order to avoid disappointment as the classes can get fully booked (class sizes are kept small to ensure a high level of facilitation). Whilst you can book week to week, it is subject to availability and the more costly option. By booking a course on the early bird offer, you will always get the best deal!
-
Do I stay with my child during the class? That depends – for 0 to 4 years classes, yes you do! Your role is to enjoy this designated time to be with your little one. The more you put in, the more you will both get out of it! Please leave food and drink outside and dedicate this time to play! For 5 years plus – you’re free! Go and grab a coffee and enjoy the silence outside – but do remember to come back!!
-
What if my child decides to be a dinosaur the entire class? We embrace all forms of creative expression—even if that means a T-rex takes over the kingdom in our fairy tale scene. Drama class is about imagination, so if they want to roar their way through the lesson, we’ll make it work!
-
What if we miss a class?Poo explosion 2 minutes before you were due to leave, no sleep the night before, sickness bug back in the house for the 6th week in a row – I get it! If you need to skip class, please always let me know with as much warning as possible. Subject to availability, you will be offered the opportunity to take part in a different class scheduled for that week.
-
What should they wear? My kid loves dressing as a superhero, but I’m not sure that’s 'theatre appropriate.'Comfort and movement are key, so whether they’re in capes, tutus, or good ol’ leggings and sneakers, as long as they can move, we’re happy. Whilst we do not insist on a Playhouse People uniform, we do offer very cool personalised t-shirts (with our logo and their name) to help them feel extra part of our exciting community!
-
Do you offer a sibling discount?Absolutely! I’m a Mum of 3 small kids – and they all want to do different clubs, so let me assure you that I understand the desire for a good old sibling discount. I offer 10% if you have more than one child enrolled in any class.

Are babies really going to act? I mean, they mostly just drool, right?Well, drooling is a form of expression! The truth is Music and Drama classes are fantastic for babies and here’s a few reasons why: * Cognitive Development – engaging with stories and music stimulates brain growth and enhances cognitive skills such as memory and attention. * Language Acquisition – exposure to stories and music introduces new vocabulary, language patterns and phonetics, aiding in language development. * Emotional Bonding – Sharing stories and singing together fosters emotional connections between babies and their caregivers. * Rhythm and Patterns – Exposure to music and stories helps babies recognise rhythm and pattern, laying the groundwork for mathematics. * Motor Skills – At Playhouse People we use lots of props and movement, which fosters both gross and fine motor skills. * Creativity and Imagination – A heightened imagination at an early age leads to flexible thinkers and good problem-solving skills. …Plus, babies have a natural flair for drama—just wait until snack time is late!

My child is super shy. Will this class make them more outgoing? Then this is the class for you! At Playhouse People we believe in the transformative power of the Performing Arts, and how it truly has power to enrich the lives of absolutely everyone. Our mission is to nurture confidence. Our focus is not on producing the next Meryl Streep, rather, it is all about developing those soft skills that are much needed for success in today’s world. Think of drama class as a gentle nudge, not a shove into the spotlight. We create a supportive, playful environment where even the shyest kids can express themselves at their own pace. By the end, you might just see them volunteer for that lead role!
